Three white egg-shaped sculptures shine in the dark through fibre optic cables that have been cast into the concrete. The sculptures are arranged in a”nest” of stones. When children see them glow, they wonder when the eggs will hatch. The fibre optics creates the illusion that the dragon´s eggs are made of light encapsulated within a thin shell.

This play scultpture is installed in Skytteholmsparken, Solna, Sweden. The sculptures are the results of a research-based and pedagogical art project by the architect Maya Mårtensson and Nikolina Ställborn together with ten children from the pre-school Gomorronsol in Solna. The project investigated: art, play, children, and the children´s view on art and public environments.
